The 5 days Bwindi & Kibale Tour offers you unforgettable Mountain Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking experience in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Kibale Forest National Park respectively. This park hosts over 459 of the 1063 mountain gorillas left on the planet earth and these can be trekked in the 20 habituated families starting from one of the 4 sectors-Nkuringo, Rushaga, Buhoma and Ruhija.
Kibale N/Park, located in Kabarole District, Western Uganda is a home to 13 species of primates and it is undoubtedly the Primate Capital of the World. The 13 primate species include over 1500 chimpanzees plus several others including colobus monkeys, baboons, pottos, bush babies and L’Hoest’s monkeys.

Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Trip to Kibale Forest National Park via Mityana to Fort Portal City.
First, you will have a cup of tea/coffee and after, vacate your hotel room in Entebbe/Kampala. 5-6 hours’ drive be spent via Mityana Town-Mubende-Fort Portal Tourism City to Kibale National Park. Lunch break in Fort Portal before you connect to your reserved lodge in Kibale forest.
Day 2: Kibale Forest chimpanzee tracking tour & afternoon Bigodi swamp walk.
After breakfast, attend briefing at Kanyanchu Visitor Centre-Kibale to learn about chimpanzee tracking rules. At 8:00am, briefing and allocation of park guide will be done and the actual trek to see chimpanzees begins, taking you about 2-4 hours.
Once you come across chimp community, you have one hour to have insight into their daily behaviors, take photos then walk back or be picked by your driver guide.
Settle for lunch and have some rest then embark on Bigodi swamp walk which lets you enjoy sighting of more species of monkeys or primates, birds, plus many other mammal species. Transfer back to your lodge to retire for the night.
Day 3: Drive direct to Bwindi National Park via Ishasha area of Queen Elizabeth N/Park.
Breakfast early and after, embark on direct trip to Bwindi, Southwestern Uganda through Ishasha area in the Southern Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will come across the tree climbing lions chilling on fig tree branches.
Get to Bwindi early and you may embark on a short nature walk to see varied monkey species, birds in the park’s different habitats.
Day 4: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Mountain gorilla trekking experience.
Rise up for your early morning breakfast and later proceed to Bwindi n/park offices to attend to briefing on dos and don’ts for gorilla trekking. Allocation of park guide and family of mountain gorillas shall be conducted by official during the 7:00am briefing time.
Come along with rain coat/rain jacket/poncho, snacks and bottled water to enable you have a smooth trek for 2-6 hours which includes 1 hour with mountain gorillas. Get back to settle at the lodge and later go pay a visit to Batwa pygmy community.
Day 5: Return to Kampala/Entebbe.
Breakfast and later, depart Bwindi for Kampala or Entebbe via Mbarara city for lunch at a hotel and then make a stopover at Equator crossing. Get to Kampala/Entebbe late in the afternoon. End of 5 days Bwindi & Kibale N/park tour.
