Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Entebbe / Kampala – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Breakfast early and meet your tour leader for briefing & transfer to South-western Uganda. This is a long road trip taking you almost 8-9 hours’ drive but comes with stopovers at Equator for photo taking and lunch at Igongo Cultural Centre. Head to Kabale, Southwestern Uganda while enjoying the jaw-dropping landscapes, valleys, hills and terraces.
Day 2: Ruhija sector (1st phase of gorilla trekking experience).
Have breakfast in the morning and after, get your packed lunch & bottled water then go and settle for briefing on gorilla trekking guidelines at Bwindi offices. You will be allocated to a gorilla family to trek and today marks your first phase of Bwindi gorilla trekking experience.
Expect to take close to 2-6 hours and there will be only 1 hour for you to spend face to face with mountain gorillas. Retreat from the jungles and settle for refreshing evening, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: 2nd gorilla trekking experience & Batwa cultural experience.
Have a hot cup of tea/coffee and later, gather at Bwindi offices for briefing still on gorilla trekking rules. Today, your trek to see mountain gorillas will be done on different gorilla group family and marks the 2nd gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Uganda.
Retreat after one hour of close encounter to settle for lunch or relax then in the afternoon, go interact with forest dwellers – Batwa pygmies who spent all 500,000 years in the same habitat with mountain gorillas as hunters and gatherers.
Day 4: 3rd gorilla trekking experience.
A hot cup of tea/coffee and after, briefing for the 3rd time on gorilla trekking dos and don’ts. At 8:00am, the park official lets you set off for actual trek to see mountain gorillas with park guide on lead.
Upon finding mountain gorilla family, have one hour face to face with its members which marks your triple encounter with these rare creatures in their natural habitat. The rest of the evening will be spent in the lodge or transfer to refresh at the cool shores of Lake Bunyonyi in the evening.
Day 5: Departure with en-route stop at equator.
Have breakfast early morning and set off for your Lake Bunyonyi boat/canoe ride to one of the 29 beautiful islands. Get back from your exciting canoe/boat ride and leave Lake Bunyonyi for Kampala which comes with en-route stop in Mbarara for lunch & Equator once again for photography.
Drop off at a hotel in Kampala/Entebbe and this marks the end of this 5 days triple gorilla trekking tour in Bwindi forest.
