Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up – Drive to Kidepo National Park. Optional night game drive
Your driver guide will pick you from your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala very early before sunrise and begin a drive through the northern route, Gulu highway. Have an enroute lunch stop at Boma guesthouse in Gulu city, and continue to the park through Kitgum – Napak road.
Depending on the time you will reach, go for a night game drive if possible to catch-up with nocturnal animals feeding before retiring for day rests; common sightings may include spotted hyenas, vultures, leopards, and so much more. Dinner and overnight at your lodge in the heart of the park.
Day 2: Game viewing & Community tour to the Manyattas
Wakeup early and go for morning game drives in the open savannahs to catch up with early risers. Expect to see animals such as elephants, lions, giraffes, Leopards, Hyenas, Uganda kobs, Waterbucks, Hippos, warthogs Topis, Oribis, wild dogs and cheetahs among others. Return to the lodge for late breakfast and wait for lunch.
In the afternoon, go for a community tour to Karamajongs tradional cattle keepers. You will learn the traditions, norms and beliefs of this indigenous tribe. Enjoy and take part in their traditional practices especially the dances for entertainment. Overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 3: Optional nature walk and transfer back to Entebbe
In the early morning, you may wake up early in the morning for a guided nature walk to the river valley to see various animals hunting, grazing and browsing for breakfast. Return to the lodge for an early breakfast. Check out and begin the drive back to Kampala for your return flight or night rest at a hotel.
